Tallahassee Legislative Day 2023 Visit

Inlet Grove’s Pre-Architecture & Engineering students joined the “AIA Florida,” The American Institute of Architects and participated in the Legislative Day in Tallahassee. Not only did they lead the way in the advocacy for our profession and education in architecture and engineering , but they also proudly represented the only high school participating at legislative day.” Inlet Grove Community High school.” for the second year.

Every year, Florida architects visit lawmakers and policymakers in their offices in Tallahassee to advocate for issues, pass out AIA Florida posters and make connections that will improve the practice of architecture in the state. Inlet Grove students participated in the legislative Day Briefing at Sittig Hall and for the second year were the only high school students to participate. Students then assembled in the War Room along other college students from FSU, UF and FAMU before they headed over to address and discuss the main topics with the House and Senate representatives.

Every House and Senate representative we met yesterday recognized the fact that our students drove 6 hours to show their support and dedication not only to their representatives but also to their school and profession.
